Last night I attended my third @johnnycupcakes lecture. When I approached him after he spoke he leaned in toward me and extended his hand and said, "Vaughn de Heart right?" While he lectured the crowd I started thinking about how next month I will start my fifth year of business. For Johnny he made his biggest risk in his fifth year that ultimately landed him success. I started thinking about what I would do if I didn't have my tipping point in this next year of business and how devastated I would feel. What Johnny stresses is individuality in business. Because of this my brand does not look like his. My customers do not look like his, and ultimately my timeline will not be his. A lot of times I will feel down because some other brand reaches a milestone before mine does. However we are playing a game of individuality and we have to accept that things will happen in their own time, and not match someone else's. This is how we are to know we have truly created something different.
